Hi all,
i am currently looking at a used DDM60 standard versioni mount and also I am trying to know a bit more about ASA DDM in general, and I have a few newbie questions and would appreciate some help!
For DDM60 specifically, I saw a few discussions about different versions of DDM60. Looks like based on manufacturing date, it might come with incremental or absolute encoders, and some of the older version need an upgrade of encoder or it won't work with some software? Can anyone elaborate a bit on how to tell which version, and I am looking at a 2014-made DDM60, do I know what version it will be?
For software control perspective, I understand I would need Sequence for modeling part, and Autoslew acting as the general ASCOM driver to work with other ASCOM-based automation software such as Voyager and NINA. First of all is this generally correct, and where can I find ASA-specific software download link (Sequence & Autoslew)?
For Sequence, do I really need Maxim DL (5 or 6?) and full license of Pinpoint, or alternatives such as ASTAP would work? If I don't have Maxim DL + Pinpoint Icannot do modeling?
For working with other ASCOM-based program, does ASA mount in general works well with them, and anything specific I should prepare?
Also ASA website doesn't contain much associated with DDM60/Pro. Can anyone kindly share manual of DDM60? The specific one I am looking at doesn't come with dovetail saddle and tripod, so I am looking for some drawing information to customize adapters for those. Thanks!
Lastly, I heared about PID tuning of motors which I have never experienced on other mounts. Is this a difficult process? Is there a well-documented tutorial to work on this?
Thanks a lot and your input would be much appreciated!
