  1. And? How did it go? I'm facing the same problem. I need to do a clean install of Windows, because of some problems with ACP (it's ridiculous I know), so I need a way to backup all the AutoSlew settings and restore them on a new install...
  2. I spent two night on M100 and NGC4312. The Moon rose late so I had a nice black sky. The second night there were some clouds, so I rejected some frames. FWHM was between 2.28" and 3.18". Details
  3. The clouds are gone! Finally! Powered up the DDM60 again: More details on my website.
  4. 1. Place tripod or pier with bubble level (2 min.) 2. Place DDM60 on tripod/pier (< 1 min.) 3. Place counterweightbar, counterweights, OTA (5 min.) 4. Connect DDM60 to PC and start Autoslew (< 1 min.) 5. Point built-in laser at Polaris (2 min.) 6. Balance setup with help of Balancing Tool in Autoslew (5 min.) 7. Tune PID parameters, use the autotune feature in Autoslew (3 min.) 8. Use Sequence to create a 3-star pointing model (automated) to fine tune the polar alignment. (5 min) 9. Polar alignment routine; Autoslew will move star from center position, recenter with bolts, if you do this a couple of times (step 8 and 9) PA will be spot on. (5 min) --- time spent a half hour --- 10. Create all-sky pointing model with Sequence (automated) or declination model (MLTP), both automated. MLTP is best for mobile setups IMO. 11. Start imaging session, unguided You'll get faster every time...

    Windows 8

    I'm using Win8 without problems.
  7. I did some noise reduction in the low SNR dust regions:
  8. The nights are very short this time of year, so I spent five nights gathering data of this nebula to get the brown color. It wasn't easy under a SQM 19.14-19.55 sky. Seeing was between 1.97" and 2.84". More details on my website.
  9. Spend two full nights on this nebula. Acquisition fully automated with CCDAutoPilot, Maxim DL and FocusMax. Seeing was from 2.04" - 2.86" FWHM. Focal length : 1381.83 mm Focal ratio : f/5.44 Image resolution : 0.806 arcsec/pixel Sky quality : 19.52 mag/arcsecond2 Sensor temperature : -25°C 6 hours, 36 minutes total exposure time 6x 120 sec. RGB unbinned 6x 1200 sec. 3nm hydrogen-a unbinned 6x 1200 sec. 3nm oxygen-III unbinned 6x 1200 sec. 3nm sulfur-II unbinned Telescope : Robtics 10" 2000mm f/8 Ritchey Chretien, reduced. 10. Solved: I had to run ACP as admin....
  11. This is the error in ACP when clicking on the properties button in the ASCOM Telescope Chooser:
  12. ASCOM v6 SP1 Windows8 .NET v4.5
  13. I'm looking into ACP for automating my setup. I already tried CCDC and CCDAP with success, but I'm not able to select Autoslew in ACP. Autoslew is running ACP is started I select Telescope > Setup... The ASCOM Telescope Chooser pops up I select Astrooptik Server Telescope I click on Properties and then an error pops up: Failed to load driver "AstrooptikServer.Telescope" I haven't got a clue what's going on. All other software can connect with AS without problems...
  14. Beautiful images! I developed my own SQM monitor at my home location: http://jeffreyjongmans.nl/weather.php It shows sky darkness over the last 24-hours and best value.
  15. Good idea. When I just received my DDM60 I was struggling with the homefinding routine, autotuning and tuning in general (PID). The supplied manual is a bit outdated and incomplete. This and this are useful posts
