dachurchill
Anyone, I use the standard ASA tube rings for my ASA N16 scope. I was told that the bolts need to fit the threaded holes for mounting plates are M6x1 - alas they are not, which I only found out when I was 640 miles away at my remote observatory with no means of backup. I will be going back to the observatory again shortly and want to install a plate, so can someone please check their rings (I would guess all the various tube sizes have the same hole spec - I hope) and let me know what the thread pattern needed is. I will be extremely grateful for anyone who can assist me here. Thanks David Churchill
w0mbat
Hi David, I have just checked my N10 tube rings and the thread size is 5 X 0.8 mm. That is a standard metric thread. Hope this helps. Ian
dachurchill
Ian, Thanks for this. I appreciate you checking. On my N16 rings actually M6 was too small, so these must be different. Anyone out there with a N16 who can check please? Regards David
