What power supply are you using and did you check the output voltage?

when i attempt to start autoslew, the mount initially moves back and forth on the calibration screen, but the movement then goes to zero on the second screen and there is no further motion. log gives the following error: "Axis RA/AZ reported the following Problem:
..could not start Motors, sorry"any hope to get this working?
thanks

Hello Mark, do you mean with "You don't need clear skies. Just run the mount on a target in The SkyX - for up to several hours if necessary. No need for camera etc..."
To connect mount " autoslew " to TSX and then chose a target in TSX and that should be enough ??
You do not need / mean to AUTOGUIDE right..
Regards
Martin
right, no need to autoguide, don't really even need to choose a target. just let it track a random point in the sky
follow up on mine
i did run a log and sent it to ASA
they were kind enough to review it
and inform my that it was definitely a bearing problem, the only way to solve it would be to send the mount in for service, which is tough from the US.
FWIW, might be my imagination, but i found that if i warm it up by moving the mount manually back and forth rapidly, and making sure the weight is perfectly balanced for the intended target, tracking is a bit better.
i seem to recall a ring with bearings for my ASA DDM 60, is there no way to change that?
thanks

hello
my 2011 DDM 60 is not tracking well:
it will point and track well initially
but then intermittently slews away from the target in RA (with software showing change in position)
sometimes it will come back to the original location after a minute or so, other times it will give an error ?voltage? and stop tracking.
the mount is well balanced and has tracked smoothly for years
(heavily used)i've no idea where to start on trouble shooting.
i've never changed the bearings
new power source, cables?
any help would be appreciated.
thanks

worked
thanks much!
Hi Bill
Have you tried to set the new home position after a successful sync with your pointing model?
-
apologies if this is a FAQ
i have pointing model which works reasonably well, but somehow got off by a bit. every night i power the DDM60 up, do a home find and slew to a star, the mount is off by several degrees. i point to the correct location, sync and it works fine for the rest of the evening. next night i start up and the mount is off by 2 degrees in the exact same direction. have tried saving the settings after sync to no avail.
can someone tell me the exact steps necessary to correct the offset?
thanks

the planetarium software in the latest version of maxim is quite functional.
might keep it simple and consider this since you'll probably be using maxim for image aquisition anyway.

OK the problem seems to be that autoslew wants to move a bunch of data files around after the first connection to the mount.
so i uninstalled, reinstalled, connected to mount, allowing data to be moved around.
then copied contents of old program file and program data directories into the new directories.
thanks for your help

After installation of AS, just put your back-upped files back in the same folder you copied them from.
Waldemar
failed miserably: numerous driver error messages, then motor not working
reinstalled from scratch and motors work
any idea how to at least get my pointing model and ERF? back?
-
had to reinstall windows 7 on my imaging laptop
i have reinstalled autoslew and usb drivers, and sequence
is there a way for me to recover all my settings, pointing model etc?
have the data backed up
thanks

OK i killed the astrooptikserver.exe process, rebooted
and installed 5116. gave me the option of undoing prior installation in process
but it is stuck mid installation...
-
hiya
thank you for your replies
after a few page not found errors
was able to download the 5116 file
having trouble with it though
first tried to reinstall my original version
error message prompted me to uninstall old version
tried to uninstall old version got error message
but no longer shows up on uninstall program list (windows 7)
clicking desktop icon gives "parameter is incorrect message"
tried to install new version
get error message:
"another installation is in progress. You must complete that installation before continuing this one"
task manager shows no tasks running
there is an active process called
astrooptikserver.exe
(there were multiple copies running last night when i got the initial "unexpected error" message)
attempting to end this process gives "the operation could not be completed, access denied"
sigh

started autoslew this evening and got the error message:
"unexpected error, quitting"
think it's version 5112, but can't get it to launch to confirm
using DDM 60
was working last night
any help would be appreciated.
thanks
