afesan
Very probably this is the first amateur image taken over this target. .. 3C400.2 SNR is a 30' apparent widefield SNR located at an estimated distance of 6 kpc into Sagitta constellation. It´s extremely faint and weak ,to complicate it furthermore... it´s amidst a very crowded and rich stellar field.. 33,5 hours were invested between June-July just to raise up some signal and filaments from the background. I hope this image encourage some other amateurs to image some other diificult targets....that just 10 years ago was only within reach of professional astronomers.. Thanks to Mr. Sakib Raasol for the information and motivation that makes me to try this target. MarkS
Antonio, Remarkable image. Makes my little galaxies look like lighthouses! Thanks for showing us this. Regards, Mark
afesan
Mark... the astrophotography sometimes seems to me a masochist hobby .. Hours and hours of imaging..just to barely take off some minor signal from the background noise. Crazy ¡¡ isn´t it ?.. Antonio
