MarkS
This fascinating trio is a tough target for the ASA10N/Moravian G2-8300 combination. (I selected it for that reason.) The image was shot at f/6.8 and shown here is a crop of about 1/9th of the area of the camera sensor - approximately 9 X 12.5 arcmin. These galaxies are about 165 Million light years away and fairly faint - so I was surprised to see such detail in them. Seeing and transparecy both good but not brilliant (there was some aurora activity that night). RGB binned X2, total 2 hours; L binned X1 for 80 minutes. Processed in Pixinsight and PS. Two stages of star shrinkage were necessary to prevent the stars from overwhelming the image. Edited September 4, 2015 by MarkS
