DDM 85 XL runs the HomeFind uncontrollably and at high speed

Uwe Trulson

Question

Hello,

It started when I had accidentally turned on the motors when the telescope was still parked horizontally in west facing and secured with a strap against tilting. The Auto Find course did not go with it. Have it canceled everything turned off and on again. Thereafter, in the correct position to the home Find again started. The Autofind ran through well. However, the Home Find then hectic telescopic movement first to the east and then west until it strikes against the column.
That happens now every way.

The Mount is balanced well. It runs well any time before.

Thank you for help

Uwe

Hello,

Hi Uwe,

for me, this sounds that you scope is not well balanced. Errors often occur on balancing problems, before you start your next session, I would recommend to ensure that the telescope will stay on each possible position with motors turned off.

Best regards,

Michael

Thank you Bernard, John and Michael,

the Balance is well, the setup wans not changed.

The only one change before was the wrong turn on the motor in fixed position.

Now i deleted the installation and the user files of Autoslew and install and setup all again.

The error is fixed.

The Mount runs well.

Best regards

Uwe

Hi Uwe,

It is wise to make a backup copy of your ASA configuration directory.

It happens once to me that these data were obviously corrupted (but with a very different behavior than the one you've got).

Wiping the configuration directory and puting back a working copy resets the correct behavior in a minute.

It is a much simpler operation to reset the configuration from a working backup than reinstalling the whole stuff.

Hope you wont need it anymore, but who knows!!!

Best regards.

Bernard
