  1. I am quite sure i allways close the program before i shut off the power. I will use the limits, but they have to work with my roof park position as well. Sequence doesn't have roof control huh? /D
  2. Aha, can i set the limits off by default? And is there an Ascom command to ignore the limits as well? The reason i ask is that i am (most likely) run Sequence generator pro this winter. /D
  3. Hi, I do not if this is an issue or me not handeling my start up rutine correct. I have defined my Park position "1" close to homefind to quickly calibrate the encoders, but after a power toggle, the DEC axis wont move, i have to move it manually with the pad in Autoslew, is this because I shut the power down to the mount? When i have calibrated the mount and slews it from CdC it works just fine, and the stars are dead center with 2350mm FL, so it is not the pointing accuracy, I re-enter Park position "1" and now it slews just fine to that position, but when i power it up next day, same error :/ Maybe i have forgotten to save the .ini file in Autoslew? /Daniel
  4. Yep, there are mechanical stops in the DDM85 as well, I asume i have to wire the USB cables from the top end and down to the "equipment" end. At least i have the power outlet the right way
  5. Hi, i have been checking the manual if there is a certain way the DEC axis is supposed to be, USB ports up or down? Right now, they are pointing up, i want them down, is that even possible? /Daniel
  6. You say "right now" - is there something on its way? Well, i havent used Ponpoint so i cant compare the speed, but is it worth the money?
  7. Hi, quick question; Is it possible to setup a local copy of astrometry.net instead of pinpoint like it is in Sequence generator pro? Regards /Daniel
  8. I was interpretating the table as how much the refraction interfere at a given altitude (60 and 90 degrees in this case) at different changes in temperature and pressure. And as you point out, no need to photograph pretty pictures to low on the horizon. /Daniel
  9. I have been doing a bit of reading, first of all, I have mixed up atmospheric refraction and distortion, so please discard post no.3 :-) I have been reading this paper regarding atmospheric refraction; http://astro.ukho.gov.uk/data/tn/naotn63.pdf In witch you find this table; If I understand this right, a increase of 10hPa increases the refraction by 23 arcseconds. Also, a increase of 2.5K in temperature brings the refraction down by 34 arcseconds. One thing i am uncertain of is if these numbers add on top of the "standard refraction" of 5 arc minutes at the horizon and 2 arc minutes at 30 degrees elevation. In my mind, this is huge numbers, please fill in my knowledge gaps of how these numbers are neglegible. Regards, Daniel Sundström
  10. Hi, i am just wondering how many Amps (13,5v) one can run throug the mount to power cameras, fw, dewheaters etc. I haven't found anything in the manuals :-/ And do you guys have separate power supplys for the mount and everything else, or can i run everything on one power supply? (Meanwell 12v 30A) /Daniel
  11. Ok (is that's why they measure with laser at the big observatories?) Thank you for the fast response! /Daniel Sundström
  12. Hi, bought a new USB "weather station" from Blue Astro" and it can send temp/pressure/dewpoint data to 10Micron mounts so it can correct for refraction in the atmosphere, can Autoslew do this as well? http://blueastro.se/index.php?id=5 /Daniel
  13. I think piggy back seems more reliable, going for a dual mount is a bit risky i assume. Is there any Losmandy saddle that fits the DDM85 standard?
  14. That was my actual concern, looks like i have to change scopes then :-D What do you think of just the APO and the Lunt? /D
  15. I have looked at ADM dovetails and they seems like good products, my main concern is how the radial inbalance will effect the pointing but mainly the tracking of the DDM mount, these are very picky when balancing. Do you have to drill your own holes in the connection plate to fasten in to the ASA saddle? The scopes are a C9,25" and a Meade 102mm APO and a Lunt LS60 solar scope. I am thinking of mounting the Lunt on top of the APO in one Losmandy saddle and the Cassegrain in another Losmandy dovetail. Or is it better to mount them on a tripple saddle? Regards/ Daniel
